TOP 100 Innovation Award 2019 Award: castus® belongs to the TOP 100

Ochsenhausen, Aug 12, 2019 - The castus® GmbH & Co. KG from Ochsenhausen has made the leap among the best at the 26th edition of the innovation competition TOP 100. The company was therefore honored on June 28 by the competition's mentor, Ranga Yogeshwar, as well as the scientific director of the competition, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, and compamedia in the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt. Using a scientific system, TOP 100 evaluates the innovation management of medium-sized companies. In the independent selection process, the company with 20 employees was particularly convincing with its innovative success.

Pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry use special equipment that is hermetically sealed from the outside world for filling and packaging highly active ingredients. They protect personnel, products and the environment from hazardous contamination. The top innovator from Ochsenhausen manufactures transfer systems for the transfer of material into and out such systems, so-called rapid transfer port systems. These cylindrical stainless steel transport containers with special closures are high-tech products, of which only a few hundred are built and sold annually. Eight years after its foundation, the TOP 100 company with only 20 employees already covers 30 percent of global demand.

Even before the official launch, the founding team had acquired patent rights to a special safety mechanism, and since then it has been continuously further developed. The company is particularly successful with individually configurable solutions. "These customized solutions give us a competitive edge," emphasizes Managing Director Jürgen Hoffmann.

castus® claims innovation leadership with regard to an innovative drawer and rail system that optimises operability inside the transport containers. "This development has led to a further gain in reputation, which can be clearly seen in the turnover", says Hoffmann.
